How It Works

Blown-in mulch install, start to finish

Blown-in mulch installation covers large or hard-to-reach properties faster, cleaner, and more evenly than hand-spreading — without tying up your site.

STEP 01

Estimate & onboarding

Our professional sales and estimating team gathers everything up front — mulch color, depth, and full scope of work — and returns a clear, itemized estimate, usually within 48 hours or sooner.

STEP 02

We pull up & stay on the road

Trucks park curbside and run long hoses to the beds — no heavy equipment on your property, so your business stays open during the install.

STEP 03

We blow the mulch in, evenly

A pneumatic system distributes mulch at a consistent depth and full coverage — even up to four stories, across berms, swales and slopes.

STEP 04

We leave it clean

No bag waste, no piles to spread, better adhesion and less wash-away. Just a vibrant, finished landscape — done on schedule.

Blown-in mulch installation, by the numbers
SPEED

30–100+ yds/hr

Crews spread 30 to 100+ cubic yards per hour — jobs finish in hours, not days.

REACH

300–500 ft

Hoses reach 300–500 feet from the truck — steep slopes, rooftops, courtyards, and fenced-in beds.

CLEANLINESS

Zero mess

No heavy equipment, wheelbarrows, or piles left on your lawn or driveway.

EFFICIENCY

10–40% less waste

Precise application cuts product waste 10–40% versus hand-spreading.

Site Requirements

What a blown-in mulch install needs

Our trucks need clear access to blow the mulch in. Here's what makes a site ready — and if yours is tricky, we'll sort it out on the walkthrough.

Truck access

A paved street or driveway to park on — firm ground and room for the truck to set up.

Within reach

Beds within about 500 feet of where we park — our hoses reach 300–500 ft.

Overhead clearance

No low-hanging branches or power lines over the path from the truck to the beds.

Not sure? We'll check

Tight or tricky access — we assess it free on the site visit and make it work.

Mulch Depth

The right depth, every time

Depth matters as much as color — too little fades fast, and too much can smother roots. Here's how we apply it, every job.

Mulch depthWhat we recommend
1 inchOur standard application — keeps established beds clean, fresh, and uniform.
2 inchesHighly recommended for one-time and first-time installs — full, rich color and coverage.
3 inchesThe maximum we'll ever apply — anything deeper can trap moisture and harm plant roots.

You don't need to do the math. We measure every bed on-site and calculate the exact yardage for you — using proprietary software and experienced estimators to get it exactly right.

FAQ

Questions boards and managers ask

Straight answers before you request a quote.

Why blow mulch instead of spreading it by hand?
It's faster, cleaner, and more precise. We get uniform depth and full coverage with far less waste — no wheelbarrow tracks across your lawn, no piles to move. Most jobs finish in hours instead of days — and because it saves so much on labor and logistics, blown-in installation typically runs one-third to one-half the cost of hand-spreading.
How far can you reach from the truck?
Our hoses reach 300–500 feet, so we get over walls and fences and into courtyards, medians, and hard-to-access beds — without heavy equipment on your property.
Will it damage my existing plants or landscaping?
No. We control the output and apply gently around delicate plantings. Our crews assess every site first and work carefully around beds, shrubs, and hardscape.
How thick should the mulch be?
We recommend 2–3 inches for most beds and never more than 3 — deeper wastes product and can smother roots. We measure every bed and dial in the right depth.
What about playground mulch?
We install IPEMA-certified, ADA-compliant playground mulch (engineered wood fiber) at a minimum depth of 6 inches for proper fall protection — safe for schools, parks, daycares, and HOA play areas.
What do I need to do to get ready?
Have beds reasonably clean and edged, turn off the irrigation/sprinklers before we arrive, and clear vehicles from the install path. Not sure your site qualifies? We'll assess access on the site visit.
How much does it cost?
Every property is different, so we price each job by the property or route — not a generic per-yard rate. We measure on-site and give you a clear, itemized quote.
How big a job can you handle?
From a single HOA entrance to hundreds of municipal properties. Our trucks carry large loads and our crews complete 30–100+ cubic yards per hour.
